Now lets start with the continent of Africa, if you are looking at experiencing language and culture then why not do it in a place where an estimated 1800 languages are spoken! Whether you are basking in the sun at the Mediterranean Sea in North Africa, or doing a Safari through Central Africa, seeing the gorillas in East Africa, touring across the Sahara dessert to see dinosaur fossils in West Africa or watching the Rugby in Southern Africa you will be experiencing cultures like no other.

For instance in West Africa alone more than 40 cultures are flourishing, as you explore this side of the continent you are likely to hear a blend of English, French, Arabic and the local tribal languages being spoken.

Africa offers many overland tours that will show you the sights and sounds of some of the most remote places; you will come away experiencing things you would never imagine. Or if you want to give something back then you can be placed in a volunteer project where you can teach children in schools, or educate the youth about the HIV/Aids epidemic, and even get your hand dirty building schools.
